It’s never an easy choice to move — but what if home is not really home anymore?

If your day is taken up by the work of getting by – cleaning, shopping, cooking, coping – how rich a life is it? How much of a home is it when it is difficult to visit friends, difficult to do the things you love?

Kittay House is a place where everything – the apartments, the building, services, the community – are designed to make the business of life easier, so tenants can get on with living the way they want to.

An Apartment Building that Supports Independence

Kittay House apartments and the entire building are designed to support independent living and full participation in the community.

All Kittay Apartments include:

• Fully accessible, senior friendly design in each apartment and in the public areas of the building
• Special design features to help those with vision issues live independently
• Lunch and dinner in our restaurant every day
• Weekly housekeeping and fresh linen services
• A 24 hour doorman
• Staffed elevators
• Emergency call bells in each apartment, connected to 24 hour security
• Private enclosed gardens
• A choice of daily activities – such as exercise classes, computer workshops, cultural activities, lectures, civic groups, trips to museums, etc.

Optional On-site Care and Support Services

While Kittay House does not provide any medical or direct care services, tenants have access to a broad range of optional services from other health care providers, right on site at Kittay.

The Solutions at Kittay Wellness Center, offers free blood pressure screening, weight tracking, advice on general questions of health and well being and referrals to other health care services

The following services are available on-site at Kittay House, on a fee for service basis from other providers:

• Physician’s offices, for tenants who want to have a personal doctor on site
• Doctor “Home Calls” — primary and specialty physicians who come to Kittay on a scheduled basis to see their patients
• Certified Home Health Aide and Companion services
• Certified Home Health Aide night time check in service
• Care Management services from a professional geriatric care manager, dedicated to finding the best of individualized and affordable services to help tenants stay safe, healthy and independent
• Assistance with managing medication usage
